The Media.
Not sure that THEY know…that WE know…that despite what their college diploma says, most of them are not REAL journalists, but liberal activists who exist to create narratives.
The Coronavirus “narrative” is that Trump is only just NOW taking it seriously, and has botched the response.
With apologies to Bill Murray, here are some narrative busters…
Mentioned this before, but the one thing that literally busts the narrative all by its lonesome is Trump ordering a halt to all travel from China at the end of January.
TEN. DAYS. AFTER. THE. FIRST. U.S. CASE.
TEN. DAYS. AFTER. THE. FIRST. U.S. CASE.
TEN. DAYS. AFTER. THE. FIRST. U.S. CASE.
In case it didn’t fully sink in the first…or second…time you read it.
The media ripped him a new one over this and called him a racist. Trump’s OWN PEOPLE largely advised against it, saying it was way too soon.
This early, bold action sure as shit doesn’t sound like the action of an unserious, unconcerned person, does it?
The nation’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci…who is on TV more than Ryan Seacrest these days…says this move unequivocally slowed the rapid spread of the virus here, buying the government time to move the battleship that is the government bureaucracy.
SO WHO’S THE STABLE GENIUS NOW, HUH???
The media absolutely refuses to acknowledge or discuss this. Doing so would be admitting Trump likely saved our collective derrières. Ain’t gonna happen.
By the way…Trump at the outset was wisely attempting to quell the media stoked panic by offering perspective and context. And his comments were purposely and dishonestly mischaracterized as…well…not giving a shit.
Epic BS….typical MO.
Anyway, the proof is in the pudding. Grab a spoon…
Ginormous task force of world renowned infectious disease experts…daily communication with the country/press conferences regrading updates/status…weeks of engagement with every major pharmaceutical, financial, retail, and travel corporation to assist with the response via public/private partnerships.
Catching my breath…
Travel bans from Europe, the new epicenter…massive coordination with states, who aggressively took the lead on social distancing restrictions…standing up drive-thru testing and telehealth capabilities…unprecedented and massive measures in process to ease the disastrous economic effects.
I could go on, but Mr. Ed has taken enough of a beating.
The superiority of a “businessman’s” approach and mindset in this crisis vs. some career political hack..of EITHER party…is breathtakingly and overwhelmingly obvious.
Personal “eccentricities” of our current Businessman-In-Chief, notwithstanding.
Even California Governor Gavin Newsome…a guy who hates Trump more than running out of hair gel, and has been struggling with serious Coronavirus issues in his state including dealing with cruise ships, said of Trump…
“We had a very long conversation…he said everything I could have hoped for…and every single thing he said, they followed through on.”
Coming from THIS dude, carries massive weight.
Insert Michael Moore joke here (_______________).
How about one of the resident Trump bashers at CNN, Dana Bash (yikes, awful play on words, apologize for that), tweeted the following after one of Trump’s Coronavirus update news conferences…
“This was remarkable from The President of the United States. President Trump is being the kind of leader that people need.”
Eviscerates the narrative. If these two Trump-Despising Libs see it, so does everyone else. Kudos for their honesty.
The biggest snafu has been the availability of test kits. This was caused largely by systemic issues within the CDC that had to be overcome, and have.
When asked in an interview on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show whether every president would have run into the same problem with regard to the broad testing that’s needed, Dr. Fauci responded…”Oh, absolutely. This has nothing to do with anybody’s fault, certainly not the president’s fault.”
Yet the lying media…whose relationship with the truth is non-existent…continues to hammer Trump like a rusty nail.
Another piece of fake news making the rounds is how the World Health Organization (WHO) purportedly offered the U.S. a boatload of test kits and we declined.
Turns out we were NOT offered any test kits because they were only research grade, and were determined to be giving off ~50% false positives.
In other words, those kits were complete and utter crap, indistinguishable from what I just sifted out of my cat Chloe’s litter box…who BTW seems wholly unconcerned with the current state of Armageddon.
A first semester journalism student could have smoked out those facts.
But here’s what REALLY snaps my peas…
In my gut…and in my heart of hearts…I KNOW the Leftist Trump-Hating crew…Democrats, Deep State, Media, et al…that live and breath every day to destroy Trump are wishing and hoping for all of this to go disastrously south from both a health and economic standpoint.
They’re smelling blood in the political waters for Trump.
AND 2020 IS PRIORITY ONE. EYE ON THE PRIZE.
Certainly not all…but just as certainly…most.
Tough charge to make, I know. Fine to disagree. It’s my honest opinion.
Sorry. Not sorry.
Quite frankly, after witnessing what these miserable SOB’s…including the media…have done for the almost the past five years, how can anyone possibly dispute this?
The good news?
The unprecedented, comprehensive, and aggressive response by the White House will not only ultimately kill the Coronavirus, but the bullshit narrative infecting the country as well.
You live in a fantasy world.
Everything I wrote is factual, or opinion based on fact. One of us lives in a fantasy world…and it ain’t me.
Maybe after they find a vaccine for the CHINESE VIRUS, they can start working on one for Trump Derangement Syndrome. For the sake of the seriously afflicted, like you, I sincerely hope so.
Thanks for your comment!
“Everything (you) wrote is factual?” You wrote, “…the one thing that literally busts the narrative all by its lonesome is Trump ordering a halt to all travel from China at the end of January.” For the only time in my life, I will quote from the VERY (Trump’s favorite adjective) conservative Washington Times:
“That the Trump administration ‘banned flights,’ ‘closed the borders,’ or ‘stopped flights’ from first China and later the European Union to halt the spread of COVID-19 has become a staple of its defense of its response to the pandemic. But it simply isn’t true. At no time through the course of this awful period have flights even once been halted between either China and the U.S. or Europe — including even Italy — and the United States.
The Trump administration did impose travel restrictions between China and the U.S., and later Europe and the U.S., but both actions have loopholes large enough to fly a 777 through. In the case of China, on Jan. 31 — weeks after it was known that the coronavirus was a serious problem — the administration restricted travel for ‘foreign nationals who had been in China in the last 14 days.'”
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/mar/22/trump-never-actually-banned-flights-from-china-or-/
“Business man’s approach… “. You mean a businessman with 6 bankruptcy claims, who’s gross mismanagement of taxation and spend policies, when combined with this new crisis will probably push the federal deficit to record highs?
What a joke of a businessman he is. It’s laughable how much you love this clown.
Narrative, huh? How about the Fox News narrative that had this pegged a Liberal hoax until mid-March? The mashup of Janine, Laura, and even Sean, whom I assume you jerk off while watching nightly, changed drastically in a two week span. Are they culpable as well?
Hair gel? Really??!! Trump Thing 1 & Thing 2, (aka Jr and the accident), are likely hoarding that like most people are toilet paper.
Where is the stock market narrative? Suspiciously absent…can’t imagine why. I’m guessing it is only Liberal stock holders who are selling in an effort to take Trump down? Whatever helps you sleep although, I don’t know how you sleep at night.
My personal and professional narrative has been and will continue to be that this too shall pass but we are in uncharted territory. Personally, I found 911 to be more serious. Almost 3K people died instantly, who knows what the gran total is when you take into account all those with lung related cancers, the stock market shut down for an unprecedented 4 days and all airline travel ceased. Most of us wandered around wondering if and when the next attack were we headed to a World War for weeks, even months. It was a scary time and, guess what? We adjusted, established some new normals like increased security at airports and sporting events and went on to not only survive but prosper again…
Know what we didn’t have? A man-child in the White House, (albeit barely), who originally dismissed the seriousness, stirred conspiracy theories that it was designed to take him down, then spent his time Tweeting out attacks on others. He united us against a common enemy instead of finger pointing, much like you are now, and we came together as a nation. What you are doing, and seeing from the WH, is seriously weak leadership and only contributes to the divide we have been living with for years.
I will continue to encourage the people I lead to remain calm, reach out to those who might be vulnerable, scared, and alone, and offer to help in some way until the dust settles. My team is focused on moving forward not sitting staunchly spewing “theories” and focused on facts, our own health and safety, and that of those we know and love.
Maybe you could do some good…you know…instead of sharing a “narrative” that is nothing more than your opinion that lacks some facts that don’t fit. How about you take your Alex Jones vitamins, (I know you have them!), check in on older relatives, maybe get outside for some fresh air and get some bottled water. Because, you know, the tap water turns the frogs gay.
Here’s a timeline of Trump’s statements about the COVID-19 situation in the U.S. What a leader!
Jan. 22: “We have it totally under control.”
Jan. 24: “It will all work out well.”
Jan. 24 (Tweet): China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!””
Jan. 29: “Just received a briefing on the Coronavirus in China from all of our GREAT agencies, who are also working closely with China. We will continue to monitor the ongoing developments. We have the best experts anywhere in the world, and they are on top of it 24/7!”
Jan. 30: “We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. And those people are all recuperating successfully. But we’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for it. So that I can assure you.”
Feb. 2: “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China. … We can’t have thousands of people coming in who may have this problem, the coronavirus. So we’re gonna see what happens, but we did shut it down, yes.”
Feb. 7: “Nothing is easy, but [Chinese President Xi Jinping] … will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”
Feb 7, 2020 (Tweets): “Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days. Nothing is easy, but…
….he will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone. Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!
Feb. 10: “I think the virus is going to be — it’s going to be fine.”
Feb. 14: “We have a very small number of people in the country, right now, with it. It’s like around 12. Many of them are getting better. Some are fully recovered already. So we’re in very good shape.”
Feb. 19: “I think it’s going to work out fine. I think when we get into April, in the warmer weather, that has a very negative effect on that and that type of a virus. So let’s see what happens, but I think it’s going to work out fine.”
Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. … Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”
Feb 24 (Tweet) The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!
Feb. 25: “You may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re all getting better. … As far as what we’re doing with the new virus, I think that we’re doing a great job.”
Feb. 25: “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus, including the very early closing of our borders to certain areas of the world.”
Feb. 26: “Because of all we’ve done, the risk to the American people remains very low. … When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero. That’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”
Feb. 26 (Q&A with reporter):
Q: This is spreading — or is going to spread, maybe, within communities. That’s the expectation.
A: It may. It may.
Q: Does that worry you?
A: No. … No, because we’re ready for it. It is what it is. We’re ready for it. We’re really prepared. … We hope it doesn’t spread. There’s a chance that it won’t spread too, and there’s a chance that it will, and then it’s a question of at what level.
Feb. 27: “Only a very small number in U.S., & China numbers look to be going down. All countries working well together!”
Feb. 28: “I think it’s really going well. We did something very fortunate: we closed up to certain areas of the world very, very early — far earlier than we were supposed to. I took a lot of heat for doing it. It turned out to be the right move, and we only have 15 people and they are getting better, and hopefully they’re all better. There’s one who is quite sick, but maybe he’s gonna be fine. … We’re prepared for the worst, but we think we’re going to be very fortunate.”
Feb. 28: “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”
Feb. 29: “We’re the number-one travel destination anywhere in the world, yet we have far fewer cases of the disease than even countries with much less travel or a much smaller population.”
March 4: “Some people will have this at a very light level and won’t even go to a doctor or hospital, and they’ll get better. There are many people like that.”
March 5 (Tweet): “With approximately 100,000 CoronaVirus cases worldwide, and 3,280 deaths, the United States, because of quick action on closing our borders, has, as of now, only 129 cases (40 Americans brought in) and 11 deaths.”
March 6: “We did an interview on Fox last night, a town hall. I think it was very good. And I said, ‘Calm. You have to be calm. It’ll go away.’ ”
March 7: “It came out of China, and we heard about it. And made a good move: We closed it down; we stopped it. Otherwise — the head of CDC said last night that you would have thousands of more problems if we didn’t shut it down very early. That was a very early shutdown, which is something we got right.”
March 8: (Retweets a story about Surgeon General Jerome Adams playing down the risk of coronavirus for Trump personally.)
March 9: “The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant. Surgeon General, ‘The risk is low to the average American.’ ”
March 9 (Tweet): “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”
March 10: “As you know, it’s about 600 cases, it’s about 26 deaths, within our country. And had we not acted quickly, that number would have been substantially more.”
March 10: “And it hit the world. And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”
March 11: “I think we’re going to get through it very well.”
March 12: “It’s going to go away. … The United States, because of what I did and what the administration did with China, we have 32 deaths at this point … when you look at the kind of numbers that you’re seeing coming out of other countries, it’s pretty amazing when you think of it.”
March 13: Says Food and Drug Administration “will bring, additionally, 1.4 million tests on board next week and 5 million within a month. I doubt we’ll need anywhere near that.”
March 14: “We’re using the full power of the federal government to defeat the virus, and that’s what we’ve been doing.” (Also retweeted supporter Candace Owens who cited “good news” on coronavirus, including that, “Italy is hit hard, experts say, because they have the oldest population in Europe (average age of those that have died is 81).”)
March 15: “This is a very contagious virus. It’s incredible. But it’s something that we have tremendous control over.”
March 16: “If you’re talking about the virus, no, that’s not under control for any place in the world. … I was talking about what we’re doing is under control, but I’m not talking about the virus.”
March 17: “We’re going to win. And I think we’re going to win faster than people think — I hope.”
In May 2018, Trump authorized his then National Security Adviser, John Bolton, to eliminate the National Security Council’s global health security unit and demote its pandemic experts.
It was a tiny office, but it had huge responsibilities. Its main job was to serve as an early-warning system for impending pandemics. “We definitely would have been sending up flares,” the unit’s former senior director, Beth Cameron, tells TIME. In the case of a global health emergency, its experts were in charge of helping coordinate the dozens of institutions—health agencies, hospitals, and state and local -governments—that must respond in a crisis. Bolton, long gone from the Administration, defended his reorganization of the NSC on Twitter as COVID-19 spread. But those on the front lines of the crisis felt its absence. “We worked very well with that office,” Fauci told Congress on March 11. “It would be nice if the office was still there.” Asked on March 13 about the decision to shut down the unit, Trump again sidestepped responsibility. “I didn’t do it,” he said, adding, “I don’t know anything about it.”
Bob…don’t bother hitting him with the facts that, in hindsight, show Trump’s incompetence. He’s blind to truth. Too much Fox, Rush, Hannity, and the ultimate frat dbag Tucker Carlson.
